Workshop: What you want to do vs. What you need to do

BRIEFING...

We started this workshop with a briefing, going over the information we had been given previously. In groups we had to ask questions about things we didn't understand on the briefs, then these were answered for us.

Here are some useful points I got from this session:

- Briefs can change as you come across challenges, and you can learn from these
- Things don't always work as you plan but this can be for the better
- Record and evaluate your ideas to show your development
- The final outcome may be totally different from what you expected because of this journey
- Briefs run together until the final deadline but it is up to you how you work them
- Need a plan to work out what will be done when
- Crits - Bring what you want feedback on and prepare questions for what you want answers on
- Need an actual bibliography document with referencing of key websites and books in preparation for the final major project. (Like your own book list of sources)
- Will be writing an overall general rationale with what direction you are going in as well as a rationale for each brief
- For each brief ask what + why and how does it contribute to the overall rationale?
- Can put confidential things you don't want to put on blog in folder
- Make your own work live - sell/display at public places, send out to relevant people
- Create an event
- For hand in: 3-6 A2 printed boards - plan printing time!
