Design Practice: Digital... Silent Movie... Initial Task

Brief

Produce a minimum of 5 x five second animated sequences (using after effects) that explore the visual communication of the word selected from the randomiser through the use of letterform only. Plus 5 x 15 frame post production storyboards. You can only use black, white and one other colour. (This colour can be different in each video). You should work to an aspect ratio of 16:9.

Task

My two words that I selected from the randomiser are stretch and expand. The task for thursday is to explore the visual communication of each word and find for each word:

- 20 other words that relate to it

- 20 meanings/definitions/interpretations of one word

- 20 objects that relate to the word - and bring in images of them

- 20 situations that you could relate to that word

- 20 appropriate typefaces - bring in small, medium and large versions of your word in the typeface. Choose typefaces that would be appropriate to work with in after effects...

You should be an expert on your words! This is all to prepare us for thursday's workshop.
