These are my final images for the editorial image brief, placed in context.
I am really happy with the editorial images I have produced for this brief, especially the image for the 'this column will change your life' article. I have spent a long time producing these images and doing research, so I probably can't afford to do this every week or I will get behind with my other work. I am glad that I have tried different medias instead of sticking with my original hand drawn style, and in future weeks I would like to get even more creative, maybe creating 3d work. I think experimenting with my ideas at the beginning stage instead of just rushing in with my first idea was also a wise choice.
Crit Feedback
I found it interesting to look around the crit at how other people have interpreted the same articles to come out with different outcomes. There were a few similar ideas, and a few ideas which I wish I had thought of.
- My images of the notes with the reversed amounts on them went down well, with people commenting that this was a clever idea, and that it is the colour that makes it obvious which note is which, and then brings out the difference.
- The Facebook maths image is quite a similar idea to a lot of other people's interpretation (and it has been pointed out that the female Facebook no profile picture icon looks like darth vader!)
- The infection timeline image may be simple, but it is good that I have experimented with different media, and that all three of my images are quite different
