DP3/ Brief 3/ Design Development/ Type Tutorial 2.

http://www.computerarts.co.uk/tutorials/design-classic-serif-poster

I chose to do this tutorial because I really liked the example graphic poster it showed with the tutorial. Mine hasn't turned out that great, but I think that is partly to do with the background. I think with a bit more playing about I might have got something a bit better, but I enjoyed playing around with the text.

The idea is that the text is supposed to flow, so that is why it is really close together, and where possible, points are touching on the bottom of one letter and the top of another for example.

To get the vintage effect, I've used a vintage text background and then applied a gradient fill over the top, and added noise to give it the textured speckle. I think the use of this is a bit overwhelming here and the text should be bigger.

The final outcome isn't great but I would like to try again with a different font and quote maybe because this tutorial has got me thinking more about how to lay type out. I think the words where the text connects (you, get, only) look the best.
