Brief

I will be design product and packaging within this brief, where I create a range of sellable stationery with the theme of celebrating the history of the internet. 

This range of products would coincide with the Bradford Media Museum Life Online exhibition about the history of the internet and so the theme of the products would relate to this subject, and it would be proposed that they would be sold in the gift shop opposite.

I hope to create products of a high enough standard to actually sell online or at craft fairs, to also help me improve my business skills. The designs will allow me to use my existing image skills, as well as improving my typographic skills.

Background

While young people may be experts on the uses of the internet, most do not know about its history, and as it is now such an important part of our daily lives, it is important they have an understanding of how and why it was created. The target audience may not remember a life before the internet, so the theme of these stationery gifts will remind them and prompt them to learn more about this tool they take for granted.

To do this, I will need to gain an understanding of this myself, by visiting exhibitions, reading books, using online sources and gathering interviews.

Considerations

How much will these products be sold for?
How many will be made of each product?
Where and how will the products be printed? Pad printing / digital printing / litho?

Mandatory Requirements

The products must be made to the highest quality to ensure they are suitable for sale
The products must be relevant to the theme
