Product / Range / Distribution... [Final Crit]

Submission Boards

For the final submission I will show my progress on boards to also get some feedback about the design and content of my boards. I need to include information about: the background, solution, explain each product, specifications, audience, tone of voice, other proposals and ethics (planA policy).

Here is my plan for the boards:
1 / Photo of all products
2 / Photo of picnic carrier and net
3 / Quotes showing font / More product photos
4 / Leaflet and website images
5 / Adverts and promotional material

As I've not finished making the products, there will still be a lot of work to be done on the boards for next week. They need to be submitted as PDF which is good as I will have a lot of making and photographing to do after my final print slot.

The boards I printed for my crits had a few screenshots of where I was up to at that stage.

Feedback from the crit:

Here are the questions I wanted answering:

1. Should my illustrations be crisp vectors or hand drawn to match the style of the font I have made?
2. Should the leaflet have a coloured background or should I print it on to coloured stock? (Going for a cream colour)
3. Is the layout of the boards okay? Is there anything missing or any obvious errors?
4. What do you think of the packaging layout plans?

Here are the responses I received from the people who looked at my boards:

- Not sure whether the images should be vectors or hand drawn, try both, but possibly vectors so that they can be enlarged across the larger nets
- Print onto off white stock, like the colour of pages from a traditional book
- The text on the boards is okay, there isn't too much, could maybe condensed a little
- Website design needs to match leaflet and packaging design
- Too much text - may need more visual aid
- Perhaps re-evaluate your audience, we think couples with young children may be more appropriate
- Good concept, can see where it is going
- Consider applying image work with type
- Use a graphics tablet to hand draw vectors
- We know exactly what you are producing so it is all clear
- All proposed pieces are relevant and link
- Good range
- Well thought out, everything works together
- We get the idea and the concept is obvious
- Nice typeface - relevant
- More development to see how everything links together is needed should be shown on blog
- The typeface works really well within the overall design
- Vectors will give it a high quality finish
- Good idea for website
- Nice mock up, good choice of categories
