I've researched what is already available from the major card companies, and I want my designs to stand out.
Possible ideas:
- The cards come with standard patterns and decorations and then with a sticker sheet so you choose what the occasion is for
- The cards are celebrating a new occasion - this way there would be no competition from other companies - e.g. Happy best friends day
- The cards feature a range of regional dialect with different typography to match the style of the accent
- The cards are tongue in cheek covering topical news stories
- The cards are interactive - you can decorate them with included stickers
- Cards come with a gift - such as badge or bookmark
- Cards come with pens so you finish off the typography
I think my favourite idea is to celebrate new occasions, such as:
Happy Unbirthday
Happy Best Friends Day - Aug 4th 2013
Happy Women's Day - March 8th 2013
Happy Children's Day - Nov 20th 2013
But I also like the idea of making these cards interactive. So I could include stickers or some sort of puzzle. Everyone likes personalised cards so the chance to personalise them could work such as a space for a photograph.
I'm thinking about going with best friends day (for a target female audience) as this is quite a cute thing that people may be inclined to buy their friends as a special treat, as a nice opposition to valentines day. I think this will item would be targeted at young females, ages 13-16, but could be something an older female buys maybe alternatively to a thank you card for a friend.
Possibly copy for cards:
- Cover:
Best Friend - You are amazing
Happy Friendship Day
You're my favourite
Thank you for everything
Hurray - its Best Friend day
Worlds Greatest Friend
#1 Best Friend
You are the BEST
