Brief 1 / Product, Packaging & Stock

Here are some possibilities for the shape and design of the greetings cards, and how they would be packaged.

Some of the ideas I like best are the ones that allow the option of customising and personalising the card, but in a way different to the readily available photograph cards online, such as with stickers.

Next I need to consider how to take the range further.

It's really hard to get the quality of paper and texture through photographs, but these cards and paper options are Fedrigoni, and are of varying textures, weights, colours. As I want these cards to look good quality, I think stock is more important than ever in this brief, and would love to be able to use such good quality card.

After exploring my options with shape and packaging I have purchased these products so I can get on with the designing of the typography.

I've looked what different stockists have to offer to match the standard of the Fedrigoni paper, and was really impressed by these white cards from Paperchase, which are thick, with a subtle texture behind them. The cards come with inserts and envelopes, and there are ten, so I could possibly design this many cards.

The cards will be packaged in cellophane bags with a top tag bit, with stickers and a badge included. This will be a cute little gift pack, which I could see being sold in little boutiques as well as more mainstream card shops. The products included would bump the price up a bit.
