After keep changing my mind about which competition brief I will enter for this brief (there are a few YCN ones I have thought of doing), I have decided to go with this Tigerprint hand drawn typography competition.
The outcomes would be similar to the original rationale that I wrote about things that I want to improve on, and to my competition brief where I stated I wanted to enter a competition where my outcome would be type based, so I don't really know why I didn't just choose this one straight away.
It looks like a fun brief that I want to get started on straight away. I'm going to start brainstorming on what ideas to go with.

There is also the potential to enter designs in to YCN in the UK Greetings Card Brief,
as the outcomes are quite similar. I will bare the specifications for the YCN brief in mind as I create my outcome to this brief, so that I know what I am producing is suitable.
There are a few things I've noticed when looking through these briefs, such as the target audiences being totally different. For tigerprint, its 35+, whereas for 16-34 for UK Greetings. This is quite confusing as these are both really non specific age ranges. 16 year olds would buy totally different cards from 34 year olds. So I think I just need to choose my own target audience to suit the themes.
What tigerprint want in terms of themes are a bit more specific (fun, playful, unique), rather than UK greetings being an open brief. UKG have specific mandatory requirements for the deliverables though, so by merging both of these briefs together, I've got quite a good idea of what I need to do so can get started straight away. I need to have a brainstorm of ideas, then re-write my brief.
