Image... Self-initiated Brief... Chosen Idea

Rationale

Brief: What is the problem you intend to solve?

I intend to create a book featuring photographs of paper craft imagery I have created based on the Secret Garden, and another book showing the development of my work.

Who needs to know?

My audience are design lovers who are interested in image based design, as well as those interested in the book the Secret Garden, both young and old.

What do they need to know?

They need to know that these images started out as 2d drawings, that were then crafted in to 3d paper crafts, and then photographed again to turn back in to 2d images.

Why do they need to know?

They need to know that there is more to this book than just photographs, and that each images not only tells a story in the sense it is an illustration of a book but that the image has been on a journey to get to its final stage.

What will they respond to?

They will look through the book, and understand what I have made only through images, as the text will only be the story of the Secret Garden.

What research is required?

Primary
- I need to gather my own primary research, by taking photos of my book collection, experimenting with different drawing techniques and taking my own garden imagery to inspire my designs.

Secondary
- I will research existing imagery to do with the secret garden, the story behind the book itself, designs inspired by the secret garden, paper craft artists, hand made books, photography and much more as the project goes on.
