YCN... Mailshot / Invitation Design

We know that we want to create a mailshot but as well as the design we need to consider how will it be folded?

Here are some paper mock ups I have made to think about what shape the mailshot will be. We want it to be unusual and to stand out to those who receive it, so that it gets noticed and doesn't just get thrown in the bin!

Chloe has been researching interactive mail shot design. She chose this example because it is interactive, and also because it has been die cut, and it an attention grabbing yellow inside.

As I'm going to design the website, Chloe is going to take it from here and design the initial mail shot, then we will both get together to discuss what we have made, and how we can improve them, and make sure they work as a set.

Here are her plans for the mailshot:

And this is the idea we're going with...

We're going to keep everything really simple on the envelope, so we are just laser cutting the date of the party that the invite is for. Chloe's idea is that the invite inside will be placed so that behind the laser cut out envelope, there is just a sheet of colour that will stand out, when you turn this over, this is the invite, with the details and place of the party, and with an image from the Pearl Lowe range that I edited. This is the template for the envelope:
