YCN... Bags & Labels

We are going with the eco theme that I have researched by proposing that we would print on to recycled paper with the labels, and that the bags would be made of paper and customers would be encouraged to recycle. The canvas bags, as mentioned before, can be re-used many of times, helping the environment.

BAGS

These bags are going to have the simplicity to them that the labels have. Primark bags for example are very simple, and they work because they make it obvious there is a Primark around. If there was too much information on the bag, it wouldn't be as easy to spot where the bag was from.

On the side of the bag, there will be a re-cycling symbol to encourage customers. Each specific store could have the name of the street of the store on it, to let people who see the bag in the street know where there nearest store is.

This is just a basic canvas bag with the same info on it which could be a standard thing, maybe given away if the customer spends more than £30 or something like that... For the promotional offers, it would be good to give away a special canvas bag that customers really want.

We could think of some unique ideas to make our packaging stand out, such as La Senza put scented beads in the bags, Accessorise wrap everything up in bright pink tissue paper and seal with a sticker.

LABELS

We are keeping the Pearl Lowe labels for her range as we don't see anything wrong with them.

But we are making a new Peacocks label to replace existing one (E-vie clothes are from Peacocks, like how its atmosphere at Primark). But instead of using E-vie, we will use the Peacocks logo, to make sure everything we create is consistent in designs. We are going to laser cut the Peacocks logo, as shown in the image below. We will be putting some coloured card behind this, the same colour as on the invite. All the information such as the price tag would go on the back of this coloured paper. The labels will be attached to the clothes with black thread and a safety pin, rather than with plastic, to give a more luxurious feel to them.

Chloe designed a few shapes and sizes so we could work out which size worked best. These are cut on to watercolour paper, for the off white colour and for the thickness and texture of the paper.
