Belly Band
The initial idea for the belly band was quite simple as I cut it by hand. I tried to put in one of the patterns I had already created, but I think this would be far too complex, so in the end, I decided to stick with my initial idea and made this up on illustrator. As I've never laser cut before, I think starting simple is probably the best idea. I'm excited to try a new technique for this brief.
Underneath the belly band, on the cover will be the pattern printed in colour. I'm thinking about applying a foil blocking or just adding some sort of effect to make it really stand out.
