Image... Book Works... Making The Book

I decided that I should add some more pages to the book as it just didn't seem to have enough content to justify selling for £5. This will mean more space for the use of different stocks. I will add a few more pages to my mock-up to see how this will affect the feel of the book.

Costing

Also, I need to consider the costing. Here I worked out the cost of stock plus the cost of printing. The cost is to make six books. I doubt I will sell them all but I would like to make a spare one just in case I do or if something goes wrong with one of the others!

Stock

21 x  sheets A4 thick paper @ 5p each = £1.05
1 x A0 sheet parcel paper @ 16p each  = 16p
6 x sheets A4 card @ 15p each = 90p

Total
£2.11
- 20% discount = £1.69

Printing

12 x sheets A4 tracing paper @ 10p each = £1.20
12 x sheets A4 parcel paper (own stock) @ 20p each = £2.40
15  x sheets A4 thick paper (own stock) @ 20p each = £3.00
6 x sheets A4 acetate @ £1 each = £6
6 x sheets A4 card (own stock) @ 20p each = £1.20

Total
£13.80

£13.80 + £1.69 + £12 (stickers) = £27.49

So each book is costing £4.58 to make, so if I sell all five I will have a massive profit of £2.10 and one spare book!

Final Pages to Print

Double sided cover on to thin card - James in digital print showed by how you have to change the image on the back to be upside down to make sure it prints the right way.

Printed on to acetate

Printed on to tracing paper

Printed double sided on to thick paper

I will also include one blank double sided page in to the book.
